U-Turn Round – Outdoor Culture

Outdoor Culture approached us when they began development on a ‘sound and sculpture walk’ at the Aston Rowant National Nature Reserve in partnership with Natural England. The Reserve is found on the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire border and is home to stunning views, various forms of wildlife and a number of enjoyable trails. The goal of the trail is to bring the heritage of Aston Rowant to life using sculptures and listening posts, helping visitors to engage with and enjoy their surroundings.
U-Turn Round
With this in mind the U-Turn Round became the obvious choice for providing an outdoor sound point for visitors to use along the trail. Environmentally friendly thanks to it’s use of wind-up power, and designed to be as robust as possible, it was ideal for the role.
All in all Outdoor Culture used 6 U-Turns along the sound and sculpture walk, installing them in various points and sculptures making use of the additional oversized-front panel. They also customised them with batwings of their own design and requested a bespoke change to the amount of audio messages played by each. Instead of 8 messages the U-Turn dial shows 6.
We, along with Outdoor Culture, were delighted with the results, the sculptures coupled with the U-Turns has really created a unique outdoor experience for visitors to truly enjoy. We highly recommend a visit. For more information watch the video below.
