Single Cup & MKII Headphones – Illusauk Inuit Cultural Centre
In order to engage a younger audience Blue Rhino Design developed a number of games and activities to fill the exhibition, many of which utilised our range of headphones and handsets. For example “Repeat After Me” and “Inuttitut Karaoke” are interactives that invite visitors to listen to and then speak the Inuttitut language.
The Illusuak Cultural Centre is a regional showcase of Labrador Inuit culture located in Nain, Nunatsiavut, the northernmost permanent community in Labrador, Canada. Toronto exhibition design firm, Blue Rhino Design recently led development of a new gallery which introduces visitors to Labrador Inuit history, tradition, skills, arts, stories, and cultural themes, all delivered through their own voices.

Other items allow visitors to hear traditional Inuit music or on one video unit hear the sobering recording of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau apologising for residential schools, where for over 100 years some 150,000 indigenous children were separated from their families and forced to have a state-run education.
