Oversized UTRs – Venta Regional Park
Žemaitija Protected Areas Directorate wanted to provide audio stations around the Ventas Regional park located in Lithuania. Without access to mains power this posed an issue for the project leads, until they discovered the U-Turn Round.

Without access to mains power this posed an issue for the project leads, until they discovered the U-Turn Round. With funding from the Mažeikiai District Municipal Administration, two of our Oversized U-Turn Rounds were purchased for the job.
Each U-Turn is installed within a bespoke information point designed by Gluk Media, they inform visitors what audio is contained and how to access it (just select the track and wind the handle until it plays!). One U-Turn provides information about nature in the Mažeikiai region, including the types of trees, objects of botanical heritage, bodies of water and the various parks you’ll find there.
The second U-Turn covers the Natura 2000 area – the valley of the Venta river, griszle and tulži, Dubijon and Goi. Both U-Turns provide audio in English and Lithuanian and are located along the Venta river walking path, a favourite for Mazeiki’s visitors and residents.
What would have been quite difficult to accomplish before has been made easy thanks to the renewable nature of the U-Turn Round – with visitors to this tranquil part of the world able to enjoy some outdoor audio interpretation at the simple turn of a wheel.
