Within The Museum of Decorative Arts & History at Collins Barracks you’ll find a ‘Rainbow Revolution Trail’ celebrating the ongoing LGBTI+ movement within Ireland. 2019 marked the 50th anniversary of The Stonewall Riots in New York City, widely recognised as the spark that ignited the gay liberation movement, quickly spreading throughout the world.
The exhibition invites visitors to explore the significance of this movement within Ireland, showcasing some physical artefacts as well as a wealth of multi-media content, including videos, images and stories from the LGBTI+ community.
To share these aspects of the exhibition The National Museum of Ireland utilised a selection of our off-the-shelf equipment. Several of our 22″ All-in-One Touchscreens were built into bespoke colourful units alongside our Heavy Duty Handset with branded label.
Using Lightbox 3 ‘Collections’ we created a digital archive packed with content, allowing visitors to access personal stories, collections of images and further information. You can view the finished archive in action below;
Visitors can find a number of these bright digital archive terminals throughout the exhibition trail.
You’ll also find some Mediascreens displaying a looping video detailing the fight for same-sex marriage in Ireland including a clip of Panti Bliss’ Noble Call speech at the Abbey Theatre.
