MKII Headphones – Barbican Archive Jukebox, Stand+Stare
Our MKII Armoured Cable Headphones were chosen for precisely this reason, they provide audio at a high quality, are very comfortable and most importantly are incredibly robust.
The Barbican Archive Jukebox was developed by designers Stand + Stare as part of a Heritage Fund project for the Barbican Arts Centre and Estate. This unique display incorporates a projector system which is activated by slotting one of 6 plastic slates into the available terminal.
Depending upon which slate is chosen, a range of animations will play via the projector each sharing interesting information about the Barbican and surrounding Golden Lane Estate with audio provided via 2 headphones. As a mobile unit the Jukebox could first be found around the Barbican residents towers and then within the Barbican Arts centre before ending up at the Barbican Library. With this in mind it had to be quite robust, especially the headphones.
Our MKII Armoured Cable Headphones were chosen for precisely this reason, they provide audio at a high quality, are very comfortable and most importantly are incredibly robust.
The unit has proven very popular with users which is no surprise given its quirky look and interactive nature.
