We were contacted by the two largest UK cinema chains ‘ODEON and Vue, who were looking for a motion activated audio device with which to help promote the new Transformers movie, Dark of the Moon. The film is the third in a very popular series of movies based on the iconic Hasbro toys.

The idea was to help create excitement in cinema lobbies for those people about to view other movies and make them aware of the release date for Transformers 3. The device needed to be simple to use, easy to roll out to multiple cinemas, provide good quality sound and quick to install. The MIAS was designed for exactly such an application, a self-contained solution it’s as simple as plugging it in, turning it on and inserting an SD Card with the programmed audio.

Message in a Speaker

The Message in a Speaker is our unique space and cable saving audio playback device. Designed as an all-in-one solution it has a built in PIR (Passive Infra-red) sensor and high quality commercial grade speaker, although it can be set to continuous play it has been developed primarily to work as a motion activated device, allowing great versatility in creating interesting visitor experiences to museum, retail and heritage sites.

Due to the high quality speaker the MIAS is mains powered, however we also offer a more compact version that can be powered via inbuilt rechargeable batteries, offering greater installation options albeit without the immense sound quality of the original MIAS.

The audio itself was a clip from the movie of Optimus Prime.
