AutoPlay Double Cup Headphones – Belfast City Hall

An exciting new visitor centre has opened this month at Belfast’s City Hall which offers a journey through Belfast’s past & present, showcasing the diversity of the town over 16 separate rooms. The City Hall’s east wing was completely transformed to house these new exhibitions which follow key topics such as City Speech & City Streets, The City Commemorates & The City at Work & Play.

Legato Solutions were in charge of the interactive journey development and custom CMS and ordered two of our AutoPlay Double Cup Headphones for the centre. They are used alongside two 20” video systems displaying different content. The screens display a looping attractor video at all times and once the auto-play handset is lifted from its unique hanger, a different video is activated. When the headphones are placed back the video stops and the attractor screen returns. The systems have been designed to automatically start every day and are managed remotely by the Legato team. Our headphones were chosen for their unique ability to activate content upon pickup as well as the fact they avoid audio bleed, are incredibly rugged and can be stored tidily away when not in use.

The new exhibition has been very well received with the Auto Play Headphones operating smoothly alongside Legato’s video systems.
