Sian Shakespear Associates were commissioned by Llyn Maritime Museum to add additional modern touches to a new Women of the Sea exhibition, The two collaborated to create a set of ten videos (five in Welsh, five in English) to tell the stories of women who worked at sea, as well as one who continues to work as a member of the coastguard to this day.

The 22″ Modern AV point was chosen to present these videos to visitors thanks to its simple programming and easy to use design. While it would typically be Desktop or Wall-mounted, the unit was requested on a bespoke stand that can be easily moved if required. It also rests at an optimum height allowing young children and wheelchair users to easily view the controls and screen. Simple to operate, users merely press one of the 10 buttons (plus volume + and -) to activate a video then use a Heavy Duty Handset to listen. The track list is displayed on a holding screen visible when a button is yet to be selected.
