32″ Kiosk & Lightbox 3 – Craft in the Bay
“We’re working in conjunction with a local community heritage group in Butetown, Cardiff, to highlight our Heritage building, along with a social and Historic context of multicultural community of Tiger Bay. We’re very happy with the service Blackbox-av has provided.”
– Simon Burgess, General Manager at Craft in the Bay
The Makers Guild in Wales is an arts organisation that became an Incorporated Charity in 2006. Their goal is to inspire artists and audiences while educating on the value of contemporary crafts, running workshop programmes throughout Wales.
At their heritage building in Cardiff Bay – fittingly named ‘Craft in the Bay’ – one of our 32″ Freestanding Touchscreen Kiosks was installed with Collections, an application from our Lightbox 3 Multi-Software Package. These are used share the building’s history from the start of its construction in 2002 until now. It also offers an insight into the multicultural history and social context of the Tiger Bay area.
Collections is able to display a range of multimedia content including text, images and video with all on display here via the 32″ Freestanding Kiosk. The Makers Guild’s wealth of content is at the visitors fingertips, with an attached pair of headphones minimising noise pollution.
General Manager Simon Burgess goes on to explain;
“This is the first stage of a much larger project which could mean more screens across venues in Cardiff. We’re working in conjunction with a local community heritage group in Butetown, Cardiff, to highlight our Heritage building, along with a social and Historic context of multicultural community of Tiger Bay. We’re very happy with the service Blackbox-av has provided.”
