Alongside these items are various Audio Visual installations that provide a deeper insight into the histories and objects in question. Heavy Duty Handsets were chosen by the National Maritime Museum to allow visitors to listen to these stories whilst avoiding audio bleed.
At the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam is the exhibition ‘Amsterdam Havenstad’ that allows visitors to learn of the relationship between the port and the city. The exhibition covers everything From the 13th Century when both were born, through to a modern focus on housing and area development right the way to discussions of energy, mobility and sustainability of the future.
Thanks to the efforts of designers MAV Techniek, visitors are taken on a tour through history, starting in the 1300’s with miniatures, paintings, tools and other archaeological finds that then leads them through the centuries. The stories tied to these objects are interlinked with the story of those that used them, the people that made Amsterdam a thriving place for business.
