Solar Audio Post – Steffan Schoning

We were approached by Belgian designer Steffan Schoning to produce the solar electronics for 10 bespoke Solar Powered Audio Posts of his own design. He found us online after being unable to find anybody locally with the expertise required for such a project.

Much like our standard audio solar posts, his design required robust and hard wearing solar electronics, capable of powering a sound store for use outdoors. However unlike with our 2 button solar posts, Steffan required 5 buttons, each with pause/play capability. This allows visitors to start the stored message, pause it, then resume all from the same button.

Steffen had been commissioned  to design audio points for use within an audio tour located in Koude Schurr, on the Belgian coast. The tour required 10 audio posts each with 5 buttons corresponding to 5 different languages. We provided the solar electronics which were then installed within the posts of his own design in Belgium.

Each of the 10 posts that make up the tour contain audio in 5 languages and have front signage made from High Pressure Laminate, designed to be more robust than Perspex.

The tour has made a great addition to the area and Steffan was more than impressed with our solar electronics.
