New Digital Audio Player Range – Press Release
The venerable Envoy SB (SoundByte) and SB Lite digital audio players from Blackbox-av, both used in many museums and attractions throughout the UK, have been replaced by the new SoundClip (SC), which has better features and a wider range.
SoundClip 2
Starting with SoundClip 2, a looping/PIR activated or two button player the range extends through eight and 16 buttons to a unit which comprises 8 buttons plus 8 light outputs, removing the need for complex lighting control in many audio installations requiring light switching.
Superior Features
All four products use MP3 file format and are extremely simple to programme via the drag ‘n’ drop of audio files. The fully featured specification includes a stereo amplifier, master volume control with limiter, user volume control option, twin 3.5” headphone sockets and a delay facility for PIR connection.
Perfect for Museum Installations
David Knight, Blackbox Product Design Manager, said: “The new range has been designed for museums and heritage attractions and incorporate features which our experience and customers tell us they need. We researched competitor products extensively before deciding a final specification and feel confident that we offer a better featured and easier to use range at a more competitive price than any other comparable devices.”
Museums and heritage attractions have been a traditional marketplace for Blackbox. More than 2000 SB players have been sold since it was launched. With the new SC range and the creation of a trade discount structure in their online shop, the company expects to maintain its existing end user clients and generate new business from museum installers.

I’ve created an Astronomy exhibit with cabinet and require a push button audio repeat system that can be mounted within the exhibit, allowing me to record between 5 to 10 minutes using an external recording device, having an external speaker or speakers. Can I purchase this item and where? How is it hooked up and how much does it cost and can I order it online? Thank you for your help.
