Sum it up for me?
Collections is just one app of many available in our Lightbox 3 package – Collections is designed specifically to let you share multi-media archives with visitors and comes with a user friendly manager that allows you to do just that. The Manager gives you plenty of freedom on how your interactive will look.
Essentially Collections lets you create 1. an Attractor screen that displays when your touchscreen is not in use. 2. Menu screens that link to various sets of multi-media content, and then finally the 3. Collections themselves which are sets of multi-media content for visitors to explore.
1. Attractor Screen
When Collections is inactive, a screensaver will display a slideshow of your images on loop with a call to action inviting the visitor to interact.
2. Menu Screen
The menu system lets users choose which Collection to interact with. This supports multiple layers of sub-menus.
3. Collection Screen
This is where your multi-media content is displayed for visitors to enjoy. It supports Audio, Video and Images.
How easy is it to use?
Putting an interactive together is simple to do thanks to the easy to use Content Management System. Read more details below.
Drag ‘n’ Drop your content
The Manager includes a very easy to use Library system; storing all of your media content from audio, images, videos & PDF’s. Order your content in a particular way and even add titles & descriptions, meaning if the media item is used in an application, the text will be ready to go!
Add your media from the library and text, you can adjust the way your entire collection looks. Change a number of settings; from text sizes to panel sizes and even provide labels for your media items.
To give you a better idea of how flexible the Collections app is, have a look at how 4 previous clients have used it, these are the W5 Science & Discovery Centre, The ABBA Museum, Chatsworth House & Rock Around the Hills.
The ABBA Museum in Sweden used Collections to create a digital jukebox, allowing visitors to browse and listen to an archive of ABBA music.
With a custom home screen created using Hotspot and Collections for everything else, Chatsworth House were able to create a unique user experience and allow exploration of their Old Master Drawings archive.
Rock Around The Hills
This exhibition at Rock Around the Hills features an All-in-One 22″ Touchscreen with Collections installed. This setup allows the museum to share a selection from its archive with visitors without the concern of risk to preservation.
That’s great but what if I need help?
